English Language (EL) students at Gibbs represent a wide variety of backgrounds. Over twenty different home languages are spoken by students in the program: Arabic, Vietnamese, Bosnian, Lao, Spanish, Hmong, Khmer, Somali, and Dinka, to name a few. Students in the EL program learn academic listening, speaking, reading, and writing to support their success in the classroom. EL students, with their diversity of experiences, provide a rich contribution to the learning community at Gibbs.  If you have any questions, please contact me at patroness@rochester.k12.mn.us
