We are using C.I.A. unit of Study called Reading Side by Side.  C.I.A. stands for collect, interpret, and apply.  Attached are some information about this approach to reading. CIA for Parents.docx   CIA sheet.pdf

‚Äč Reading at Home- students are expected to read at home which is a large part of their homework.  They should read about 600 minutes or more each month.  They will track these minutes on their monthly reading log. Please encourage them to record daily.  It is also important to have discussions with them about what they are reading. These discussions will encourage comprehension and reflection of what they are reading.
